Terms of Service
Effective date: October 24, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Receitz at receitz.app, operated by DigBI LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). By using Receitz, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The service
Receitz helps you save and organize recipes and related content. We may add, change, or discontinue features over time.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the service. If you are under the age of legal adulthood where you live, you must have permission from a parent or guardian.
2. Your account
Some features require an account, including signing in through Google. You agree to provide accurate account information and protect access to your account.
You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Contact us at support@receitz.app if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.
If you use Google to sign in, your use of Google's services is also subject to Google's applicable terms and policies.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
- Upload or share content that infringes another person's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.
- Introduce malicious software or interfere with the service's security or operation.
- Attempt to access another user's account or information without authorization.
- Use automated tools in a way that disrupts or places an unreasonable burden on the service.
- Circumvent access restrictions or use the service to distribute spam.
4. Your recipes and other content
You retain any ownership rights you hold in recipes, notes, images, and other content you submit.
You grant us a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, format, and display your content solely as needed to operate and provide the service, including any sharing features you choose to use.
This license ends when your content is deleted from our systems, except for copies retained temporarily in backups or as required by law.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the rights needed to upload, import, or share content. Saving a recipe or linking to a website does not transfer ownership of third-party content to you or to us.
5. Our intellectual property
Except for user content and third-party materials, the service's software, branding, design, and other materials belong to us or our licensors.
You may use these materials only as needed to use the service as permitted by these Terms. These Terms do not transfer ownership of our intellectual property to you.
6. Third-party websites and services
The service may include links to recipe websites or rely on third-party services, including Google authentication. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices.
Your use of third-party websites and services is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.
7. Recipe and food information
Recipes and related information are provided for general informational purposes. We do not guarantee their accuracy, nutritional values, allergen information, or suitability for your needs.
You are responsible for checking ingredients, dietary restrictions, food handling practices, and cooking temperatures. Consult a qualified professional when you need medical or dietary advice.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share personal information. See our Privacy Policy for details.
9. Availability and account termination
We aim to provide a reliable service, but uninterrupted access and permanent storage are not guaranteed. Keep separate copies of content that is important to you.
You may stop using the service at any time. To request account deletion, contact support@receitz.app.
We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to address a violation of these Terms, security risks, unlawful activity, or harm to other users. We may also discontinue the service. Where reasonably practicable, we will provide notice and an opportunity to retrieve your content.
10. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, secure at all times, or meet every user's requirements.
Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including loss of profits or data.
Our total liability for claims arising from the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us to use the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date.
For material changes, we will provide reasonable notice before they take effect, unless an immediate change is necessary for legal or security reasons. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the service.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer protections or your right to bring a claim in a court available to you under applicable law.
14. Copyright and user content
Owner representations
You represent that you own, or have the rights or other legal authorization necessary to submit, store, and share (as you choose to share) each recipe, image, and other item of content you add to Receitz. Where a recipe or image came from someone else, you are responsible for having permission to use it in the way you are using it. Recording a source in Receitz is attribution only; it is not a claim, and not evidence, that permission exists.
Our role
Receitz stores and displays content that members submit. We do not review content before it is saved, and we do not claim ownership of it.
Receitz acts as a service provider within the meaning of 17 U.S.C. § 512(k)(1)(B) and seeks the protections of the statutory safe harbors, including the safe harbor for material stored at the direction of users under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c).
Designated agent for notices
Our designated agent to receive notifications of claimed infringement is DigBI LLC, registered with the United States Copyright Office. Notices of claimed infringement and counter-notifications may be sent to support@receitz.app.
Reporting a copyright concern
If you believe content on Receitz infringes a copyrighted work, you can report it with the "Report copyright concern" action on the recipe itself, or write to us at support@receitz.app. You do not need a Receitz account to report a concern.
A complete notice should include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act for the owner.
- Identification of the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed, or, if a single notice covers multiple works, a representative list of those works.
- Identification of the material you believe is infringing, with enough detail for us to find it. A Receitz recipe link is ideal.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
What we do with a notice
We review the notices we receive. Where a notice identifies content and appears complete, we may remove or restrict access to that content, tell the member who posted it, and record the action together with the reasons for it.
A restriction is not a deletion. The content stays in the member's account, the member keeps access to it, and their other recipes are unaffected. If a restriction is lifted, the recipe returns to the sharing settings it had before.
Counter-notification
If your content was restricted and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can submit a counter-notification from the recipe itself, or write to us at support@receitz.app. A complete counter-notification should include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that was removed or disabled, and where it appeared before it was removed.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Receitz may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the notice or that person's agent.
Where a counter-notification is complete and the conditions the law provides for are met, and provided no legal or litigation hold applies and no court action has been reported to us, we may restore the material not less than 10 and not more than 14 business days after receiving it, unless the person who filed the notice tells us they have filed an action seeking a court order to restrain the activity. Nothing is restored automatically, and the decision to restore is ours to make.
Repeat infringers
We keep a record of substantiated copyright complaints against each account. Where an account repeatedly receives substantiated complaints, we may suspend or terminate the account and remove the content involved. A single complaint, or a complaint we have not reviewed and substantiated, does not by itself cause an account to be terminated.
Reports we keep
A copyright report, the content as it stood when the report arrived, and the record of the decisions taken on it are kept for three years from the date the report is closed, or from the date we received it if that is later. After that they become eligible for deletion. The record of decisions is kept as it was made: each entry records who acted, when, and why, and is not edited afterwards.
Your private recipe story and your original recipe card images are never copied into a report. A report records only whether they exist.
Abuse of this process
We may refuse to act on, and may take action against, notices that are knowingly materially misrepresented, including as provided in 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
